Edfu Temple was begun in 237 BCE, was a Greek city and is a religious and commercial center. It is about 65 miles north of Aswan. They are well-known for producing sugar and pottery. The main attraction here is the Temple of Horus, which is the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt and the second largest after Karnak. There are many inscriptions on every surface, showing religious ceremonies of the time and the usual tales of bravery, wisdom and the might of the Pharaoh. We see scenery along the Nile and pass throught the locks of Esna.
