Jerash has the world's best-preserved and most complete Greco-Roman city. The Greco-Roman period had much more ornate columns in their architecture. Established as a town in the year 70 AD, it's a sprawling open-air museum of temples, baths, theaters, lovely Byzantine churches and splendid avenues and plazas lined with colonnades.
