Dad's Sugar Cookies

Note: These cookies are meant to be big, fat and cake-like. This makes a large recipe and will take at least 9-10 cups of flour. It can easily be cut in half. Or you can also use less milk and it will require less flour.

2 c. shortening (like Crisco, but part butter gives a better flavor.)

Cream these together well, then add:

2 cups milk

2 eggs

2 teas. each soda, salt & baking powder

1 T. vanilla

Add flour gradually and stir until thick enough to handle. (Can be chilled if necessary.) Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick and cut with large cookie cutter. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 for about 12 min.
