San Paolo Basilica

The basilica of San Paolo (St. Paul) is the second largest church in Rome. It was destroyed by fire in 1823, so this is a fairly new church.

One side of the interior. The round gold circles above the columns are pictures of all the popes.  The ceiling is also very elaborate.

A variety of columns surround the cloister or courtyard. They are inlaid with marble mosaics.
