Rather than visit the city of Puntarenas, we chose to take a cruise on the Tarcoles River. thru the Guacalillos Estuary, which is known for it's Mangrove forests. Here there are 250 species of crocodiles, insects, and birds. Costa Rica has one million species of flora and fauna, which make up five percent of all the plant and animal species on the planet. 27% of the country is designated wildlife refuge or national park. |
